The best Turkey Burger I ever had, hands down. The carrot fries weren't bad either. I loved the carrot pie too.
I also went on a Friday night and enjoyed the spoken word. -

Had the kitchen sink "Venetian salad." B/c I love it when weird combinations of ingredients taste unexpectedly great together (eg. the first time I ever had a cranberry goat cheese walnut salad). Unfortunately that wasn't the case with this one. It was a Greek salad with grapes and a sweet dressing that didn't add up to a cohesive tasting dish whatsoever. Also the waitress highly recommended this and said the chicken was "amazing"...it was fresh off the grill but a tad dry and not that flavorful.
Stir fry quinoa - again, was promised this was very good and instead it was just pretty plain.
Salmon egg rolls. Overly sweet. Tastes very similar to their salmon Cuban sandwich, so I guess if you're a fan of one you'll probably like the other. -

I'll start by saying I really wanted to like this place. It's walking distance from work, they have a lot of tasty sounding options that seem healthier than most place, and it would add some variety to the normal work-lunch places we go.
My coworkers had been once before when they first opened. They reported that the service was slow, but the food was good. So they chalked it up to recently opening and it was decided they'd give it another chance after they'd been open longer. Cut to yesterday when I went along to the second chance...
We get there at 11:45am hoping to avoid some of the lunch rush and because we all had 1pm meetings to get back to. There were 3 other tables and one person waiting for a carry out order. We placed our orders within 5 minutes.
Time passes... at the 20 minute mark, we decide to ask about our orders because we are on a time limit. We were told they were on the way in just a few minutes. Ok, cool, no problem. More time passes... 30 minutes... 45 minutes... No food still!! Meanwhile, they've brought out numerous orders to others who arrived after us. What in the world?!?
Finally, we told them just pack it to go because we need to leave. We were again told it would be out in just a few minutes. We wait TEN MORE MINUTES, standing at the counter and STILL. NO. FOOD. It's been an HOUR. Other people have been served and eaten their entire meals that arrived after us! We didn't even order anything super complex: 3 salads and 1 sandwich.
We had already paid, but one coworker asked for a refund. The rest of us got our orders to go and we're finally out of there at 1 pm, getting back late to our respective meetings. I took a few bites of my salad, but it wasn't that great. Despite the menu saying "grilled chicken breast" it was some kind of seasoned and shredded chicken that didn't even pair with my salad.
What a total disappointment. Slow doesn't even describe the service - it's the slowest I've ever experienced for a lunch place. I will not be coming back here. The food was meh and the service was unreasonable. They should consider getting more staff when they are busy.
Edited to add: If you're gluten free, there aren't a lot of options here. Go elsewhere. Especially if you're celiac or have other food allergies. -

It was my first time here and had heard good things about it, and honestly all of them were so true. The place is small but it is remarkably cute. The menu is also small, but it has something for everyone. The hospitality is so sweet and charming and put a smile on my face.
I ordered the Bella Burger, and when it came out it looked like the burgers that are on tv but are never the same in real life. Well let me tell you this was just like those commercials and it was real and drool worthy. It was also delicious. So much so that I thought about getting another one to go for later. The price too is also very affordable.
Another cool thing about it is the support to black and brown artists. The artwork in there has descriptions and are able to be bought, and it demonstrated the black/brown diaspora through art and it was beautiful! -

I'm big on reviewing after defining consistency. I've dined here for 3 days straight and the experience has been pretty consistent.
The food is consistently 5 stars from freshness to taste to presentation.
I've tried something different each day and haven't been disappointed at all.
* Deep Sea Hoagie - Seasoned to perfection, sizing perfect, fried perfectly, sub warm and toasty and the toppings were the right mix
* Cuban - Not your typical Cuban as it's made with Salmon. The toasted bun spread with garlic mayo and the banana peppers ans Swiss set this sandwich off . What I will say is if you don't like Sauce like my hubby you may not want this as the salmon is glazed which causes a sauce that is consistent with bar b q which I don't mind it was so good. I had carrot fries on the side they were fried and tasty.
* BLT - You can choose between turkey bacon and Salmon bacon YES Salmon Bacon. I had it with Salmon back which was perfect. I had onion rings on the side they had a very unique crust that was well seasoned.
The service and acknowledgement is consistent here as well. It lacks what is needed for such a great place, I give the service 3 stars as I've had to literally jump up and down to get someone to acknowledge me when I'm standing at the bar it register to order a to go. Mind you they are standing there and just ignoring me being there.
If the food wasn't so good I would not go back due to this issue, I did decide to not go the 4th day ans will give them a break for a while in hopes that upon my return it will be better service.
Wait did I mention the house made tea, I had the citrus one and it was so freaking good. They also have cookies from a local baker at the register for $2 (Davis Cookie Collection) I've had the lemon and white chocolate macadamia nut and they were awesome.
